Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are a UK charity with a Laravel / Laravel Nova website hosted on a Linode (Akamai) server. Our previous developers no longer support it. We need an experienced Laravel and Linux server professional to patch the site against the critical October 2026 vulnerabilities, ideally within the next few days.
Scope:
1. Take a full Linode snapshot or backup before making any changes.
2. Update PHP to a version that fixes CVE-2026-109618, CVE-2026-109619 and CVE-2026-115560. If the server runs PHP 8.1 or older, advise on the upgrade needed.
3. Check the Laravel framework version, and update it to fix CVE-2026-114509 (TokenGuard authentication bypass) where needed.
4. Apply outstanding operating system security updates.
5. Check the server and application logs for signs of compromise since 20 October 2026, and report what you find.
6. Switch on automatic security updates for the operating system, where safe to do so.
7. Write a short plain-English report: what versions you found, what you changed, anything still at risk, and recommended next steps.
Please include in your reply: relevant Laravel / server experience, your availability in the next week, and a fixed price.
Optional follow-on: we may want an ongoing monthly maintenance arrangement. Please say if you offer this.
