Experience Level: Entry
I run a football club's supporter's club website on Wordpress using a pre-existing template. Recently, when running updates on plugins on Wordpress, the site broke. I can no longer access either the backend or frontend on Wordpress. The public can't view the site either. I do still have access to the cpanel. I tried running the suggested fixes for the site by asking chatGPT, but I'm unsure if this made the problem worse. It didn't fix the problem, so I am looking for someone urgently who can help me fix the site and get it running again.

    Hi Matthew,
    The URL of the website is https://www.manutd.co.za and I access it on Wordpress with https://www.manutd.co.za/wp-admin. Both lead to a screen that displays, "This page isn't working; www.manutd.co.za is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500. Reload." I do however have access to the Cpanel.
    Are you able to fix this, and how long do you think it will take?

    Hi Jayden,

    Error 500 is a server error but could be caused by any number of things. Have you been able to check the error logs yourself or have you contacted your host regarding the issue?

    It's difficult to say exactly how long 'fixing' it will take at this stage, without knowing more specific details of the issue. My suggestion would be to allow for up to 1 hour of investigation work to diagnose the problem first.

    If this sounds ok, please let me know and I'll submit a proposal for the preliminary investigation work which will provide you with a detailed report/overview of the error.
