Description
Experience Level: Expert
I have two existing Squarespace sites that need to be rebuilt on WordPress. Both sites are intentionally minimal — execution only, no redesign. The hosting is already mid-setup on FLOKInet (Iceland-based cPanel hosting) and Cloudflare is configured. SSL certificate is pending post-transfer on one domain — flagging in case it requires attention during setup.
Current Status:
serpentssong.com — domain transfer to FLOKInet complete, SSL certificate pending
zeldacollective.com — domain transfer still completing, a few days behind, had to resend authorization code
I would love a developer who can help guide me through this transition as I am not deeply tech-literate but have made deliberate, informed infrastructure choices.
Site 1: serpentssong.com — The Publication
A literary memoir publication moving from free public access to a one-time lifetime payment model. Subscribers remain on the list indefinitely. Payment must fall under EU privacy jurisdiction; crypto payment integration preferred. The publication lives on WordPress as a designed reading experience and is simultaneously minted to decentralized permanent storage. Both layers are core requirements. Details provided upon engagement.
Full-screen video hero on homepage (video file provided)
Cream/linen color palette, serif typography (Cormorant Garamond/Lora)
Minimal, editorial aesthetic — clean, literary, no clutter
Section pages acting as chapter groupings
Individual chapter pages with two-column layout
Think: a book online. Mythic. Very basic.
Site 2: zeldacollective.com — The Storefront
Public-facing site that contextualizes the publication. No paywall. Clean, authoritative, minimal. Think literary foundation meets institutional archive. May house or link to other similar online memoir projects in the future. Intermittently links attached PDFs and academic or theoretical pieces.
Again: very basic, clean, and simple.
I am willing to pay a premium for someone who can start promptly, communicate clearly throughout the process, and understands decentralized storage, digital sovereignty infrastructure, and the concept of the work itself.
Looking forward to your questions.

-

Do you have any reference websites whose style you’d like this to follow?
-

Are you planning to use any specific WordPress theme or should I choose a lightweight one that matches your minimal style?
-

One thing I want to get right from the start, on serpentssong, what should happen if someone shares a paid access link or account, should access be strictly controlled per user or are you okay with some level of open distribution?
