Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: Not sure
General information for the website: News
Description of requirements/features: Please see below
Similar urls: www.drudgereport.com
Extra notes:
I need a very simple (one page) web site building.
The site will be a curated news aggregator site – ie a collection of links to pages on external sites. The page needs to be as simple to use as possible (see www.drudgreport.com as an example of usability – however, I feel the look and feel can be improved).
Design: Single page / three columns / nine sections (3 per column) / 6 stories (links) per section
Each time a new story is added, the headline (written by a site admin) goes to the top of the allocated section, with the oldest story / link being 'bumped' from the site. Also, there will be an assigned 'main headline' spanning the top of the page
In terms of build, I have a few needs:
1) It needs to be as easy to update as possible (as this will be done frequently) so I need a dashboard as simple as possible. A simple panel with entries for:
Weblink (simple copy and paste)
Headline (written by admin)
Section (tickbox / dropdown menu)
'Main headline' status – (yes or no)
Schedule (now or later)
* Uploading via mobile must be possible / easy
2) The site needs to be set up for Google adsense
3) It needs to be mobile optimised
4) There needs to be full analytics easy to hand – including traffic driven per story, as well as general visitor numbers
5) Each new story needs to be broadcast on twitter
6) An email sign-up option
7) It needs to be as secure as possible
For further details, please don't hesitate to get in contact.
