Description
The creative direction combines Mediterranean old-money elegance with bold, unexpected illustrations. We need someone with strong fashion taste, excellent typography skills and the ability to turn campaign imagery into a distinctive shopping experience.
VISUAL DIRECTION
Imagine a Riviera weekend: historic seaside hotels, yacht decks, cream linen, dark wood, evening dinners and confident, understated styling.
Our T-shirts bring the attitude through original graphics. The website brings the sophistication through art direction, photography, typography and layout.
References to explore:
• Casablanca — expressive fashion and luxury leisure.
• Aimé Leon Dore — cohesive lifestyle storytelling.
• Tom Ford — confidence and sensuality.
• Oakâme — warm neutrals and striking editorial scale.
• Farfetch — clear product browsing and shopping functionality.
These references describe different aspects of the direction. We want an original identity.
THE EXPERIENCE
• Full-width campaign imagery with immediate visual impact.
• Warm ivory, espresso brown and deep navy as a starting palette.
• Beautiful typography, generous spacing and considered layouts.
• Editorial storytelling alongside clear product presentation.
• Subtle animation and smooth transitions.
• Fast, polished mobile browsing.
• An intuitive purchase journey.
The product should remain the focal point throughout.
PROJECT SCOPE
Design:
• Initial visual direction and homepage concept.
• Desktop and mobile design approval before development.
• Homepage, collection page and product page designs.
Shopify build:
• Complete responsive store setup and development.
• Initial upload of up to 10 products with size/colour variants.
• Product galleries, size guide and detailed product information.
• Cart and checkout configuration within the selected Shopify plan.
• About, contact, FAQ, shipping, returns and supplied policy pages.
• Email signup and a basic welcome email.
• Payment and shipping configuration.
• Social links, Meta Pixel and GA4 with appropriate consent controls.
• Basic SEO, image optimisation and performance checks.
• Full purchase journey testing.
• Launch support and a short handover video.
FULFILMENT
We plan to launch using POD/made-to-order fulfilment. The supplier is still being selected.
Please include integration with one compatible supplier in your proposal, stating your assumptions. Any custom integration requirements must be identified and priced before development.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
• Brand name and existing clothing designs after shortlisting.
• Product information and garment specifications.
• Campaign imagery and product assets.
• Feedback and direction throughout the project.
• Policy content.
Please specify whether copy refinement or any additional asset creation is included in your quote.
BUILD APPROACH
We are open to a professionally customised Shopify theme or a custom approach, provided the result achieves the required quality and remains easy for us to manage.
Please identify the proposed theme and any paid apps. List licence fees and recurring costs separately. Licences must be legitimate and purchased through our account.
TO APPLY, PLEASE SEND:
Three to five relevant live fashion or premium ecommerce websites you personally worked on.
Your exact contribution to each: design, development, or both.
A brief description of the visual direction you would propose for this project.
Your recommended Shopify build approach.
Your fixed project price, including clear exclusions.
Your timeline, milestones and included revision rounds.
Your experience with POD/made-to-order integrations.
Your included post-launch support.
An existing portfolio and a short written approach are sufficient for this stage; an unpaid custom design is not required.
Please begin your proposal with “RIVIERA” and place your strongest relevant fashion project first.
We will shortlist based on visual quality, relevant experience and a clear understanding of the brief.

1/ Since the POD supplier has not yet been selected, which suppliers are currently being considered, and do you already have a shortlist of Shopify-compatible providers? Once selected, should the integration automatically sync products, size/colour variants, orders and fulfilment/tracking information, or will some of these processes be handled manually?
2/ For the initial 10 products, how are you planning to structure the size and colour combinations, and will every colour have its own product imagery? Do you expect inventory/availability to be managed directly by the POD supplier, Shopify, or manually?
3/ How do you envision the balance between the editorial/campaign experience and direct shopping? For example, should visitors encounter a highly visual campaign-led homepage first and then move into shopping, or should featured products and collections be visible very early in the experience?
-

-/ For size and colour variants, should changing the colour automatically switch the PDP gallery to photography specifically associated with that colour?
-/ Do you want the size guide to be a standard measurement modal, or a more premium fit experience covering model measurements, fit notes, garment measurements and sizing recommendations?
-/ For the collection experience, are you initially expecting simple browsing, or should we include filters/sorting, quick add, colour swatches, alternate-image hover and sold-out/pre-order states from launch?
-/ Do you want features such as wishlist, back-in-stock notifications, pre-orders, product recommendations or recently viewed items at launch, or would you prefer to keep V1 intentionally minimal?
