Oxygen Wordpress Developer Website Refresh & AI Optimisation

I am looking for a UK-based WordPress developer with Oxygen Builder experience to review, refresh and improve an existing website for an established UK asset finance brokerage.

The website is already live and functioning and I have full control of the website and hosting.

I am not looking for a completely new website or rebrand. The initial objective is to improve the existing site technically and visually, while making it better structured for Google and increasingly for AI search/recommendation platforms such as ChatGPT.

We are already receiving some enquiries from customers who say they were recommended to us through ChatGPT, so it is important that any work preserves what is already working while improving the site's visibility and usability.

Initial Project

I would like the developer to review the existing Oxygen/WordPress site and recommend and implement appropriate improvements, including:

Overall appearance, layout and usability
Mobile responsiveness
Site speed and technical performance
Technical SEO
Existing URL structure and redirects
XML sitemap and indexing
Google/Bing search visibility
Appropriate schema/structured data
Internal linking
Crawlability by search engines and AI search crawlers
Contact/enquiry conversion
General WordPress/Oxygen housekeeping

Existing rankings and indexed pages should be preserved wherever possible rather than simply rebuilding everything.

AI / ChatGPT Search

A particular objective is to make the website easy for ChatGPT and other AI/search systems to understand and surface where relevant.

The business operates within a number of specialist areas of UK asset finance and already appears to be gaining some enquiries through AI recommendations.

I will provide the specialist finance input and content where required, so I am not looking for a developer to produce large amounts of generic AI-generated finance copy.

Future Work

Subject to the success of the initial project, there may be ongoing work developing targeted landing pages for particular finance searches, sectors, assets and other sources of potential customers.

I also own a number of relevant domain names which may subsequently be used to direct traffic to targeted pages within the main website.

This is not necessarily part of the initial project, but I would prefer to work with someone who has the capability to assist with this later if required.

I am not necessarily looking for a large agency or someone with decades of commercial experience.

I would also be very open to hearing from a university/college student, recent graduate or younger developer who can demonstrate the necessary skills. In some respects this could be an advantage, particularly if you are actively working with the latest developments in web technology, SEO and AI search.

What matters to me is ability, current knowledge, reliability and enthusiasm, rather than the size of your portfolio or number of years in business.
