I have a couple of question to help with fully understanding your requirements:

1. What's the location finder for; retail stores, franchise branches, clinics, service technicians, or something else?
2. Do you have the location data already (name, address, postcode, phone,etc) in a spreadsheet, or does that need to be gathered?
3. Should the search work by postcode radius, or just match locations to the nearest postcode area?
4. Do you want filters or categories on the map?
5. Do you have existing branding, or does this need a design built from scratch?

Before recommending the best architecture, I'd love to understand your vision a little better. Could you please help me with a few details?

Will the locations remain around 50, or do you expect them to grow into the hundreds or thousands?
Should users simply find nearby locations, or will they also need directions and estimated travel times?
Do you already have a spreadsheet or database containing all location names, addresses, and postcodes?
Would you like an admin dashboard so you can add, edit, or remove locations yourself?
Should the search results include additional information such as opening hours, contact details, or booking links?
Do you have a preferred design or existing branding that the website should follow?
Are there any future features you already have in mind, such as appointment booking, filtering, or user accounts, that we should consider while planning the architecture?

Best platform: WordPress or custom React

1. WordPress is best if you want easy content editing and a lower cost.
2. React/Next.js is best if you want a faster, more scalable custom experience.
