Interactive Web Programmer
Cleveland-based design firm is looking for an interactive web programmer to create a site which will allow our proprietary manufacturing client to post used machine tools for sale. The interface used to create the actual sales listings must be simple enough that the manufacturer's non-web savvy sales reps can use it without any real training.
The site will include the following:
1.) The ability to list at least 6 used machines for sale at any one time.
2.) Each listing will need to display the following information fields:
A.) Machine name of 100 text characters
B.) A subtitle for the machine series name of 100 text characters
C.) A general info text box of 500 characters
D.) A technical description text box of 200 characters
E.) A price field of 100 text characters
F.) POSSIBLY it will also need the ability to upload and resize an image of the machine (JPG, PCT, or GIF)
3.) The ability for the sales reps to select either update a listing, add a new listing, or delete an old listing with one click.
4.) The actual update interface must also be at least moderately secure-- that is, a sales rep wanting to update the listings would need to enter a (simple) password for access.
5.) Finally, the site must include a single page accessible to the general public which will immediately reflect any updates made via the secure section.
Technical skills needed: Extensive HTML experience, either ASP (preferred), PHP, or JavaScript programming, and (preferred but not necessary) Photoshop, and xhtml.
Time frame: The site should be completable within one month of the job start.
Other: Our client already has the necessary URL, Windows-based server, page layout design, etc. Only the programming is needed, and, as noted, ASP is preferred. Please quote on both the with and without image upload/rescale ability (point 2-F above).
