Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: URL masking with htaccess or server-side configuration for Magento
Description of requirements/features: I'm desperately trying to change the URL that is displayed whilst showing the contents from another URL in Magento.
I have what should be a working RewriteRule in .htaccess and works in testing but not on a live Magento site, I suspect that there is something else in the .htaccess preventing it from working or something additionally needs to be configured on the website.
Please do not bid on this job unless you are extremely advanced with server (Apache) configuration and modules, .htaccess directives and regex. I don't want to hear basic comments like 'is mod_rewrite enabled'.
I'm sure this should be possible but just need some assistance with implementation. You can see full details of the scenario in the following threads:-
http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/59789/masking-mapping-urls-with-htaccess
http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/61256/showing-content-from-pages-at-different-urls-masking-possibly-with-htaccess
