Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the website: Youth Politics Website
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: I own a popular website over at http://youthdebates.org. The most popular part of the website is the forum at http://youthdebates.org/forums. This runs XenForo forum software. The core website runs WordPress. I want to get it like this:
1. Users sign up through BuddyPress. There are already thousands of users who signed up through Xenforo, so this will have to be addressed without losing any of their data.
2. There is only one log in page.
3. WordPress & Xenforo share user tables/database (don't know how to do this).
4. Users can click through to the Wordpress/XenForo side without having to log in again.
5. There is one central profile - not one for XenForo and one for Buddypress. I must be able to add custom fields to profiles.
6. Usergroups are shared between XF/WP
7. There is only one system for private messages - preferably BuddyPress. Existing XF conversations will need to be retained/migrated.
I also want both sides to look like they're using the same theme, although I may go to a Xenforo-only specialist for this.
This needs to be developed on a test server on which I can access the front end and admin panels of Wordpress/Xenforo. I can provide backups of both the YouthDebates database and website to install on this server - although it must be password protected for Xenforo licensing reasons.
This is confusing even to me, but I think I've said what needs to be done. This is advanced stuff and as such I'll only consider solid, hand-written proposals.
Specific technologies required: PHP, MYSQL, HTML5 & CSS, Dedicated Server or VPS
Extra notes:
