Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: the website will sell a small selection of promotional products
Kind of development: New website from scratch
Description of requirements/features: Collective Buying Website
The idea behind this site is that a group of customers can go onto this site and make individual orders for each product. However at the end of a designated order window ie 2 weeks whatever quantity the total orders have reached. Each buyer gets that quantity breaks price.
For example the following orders are place within the order window
1) 250 by Mr x
2) 500 by Mr y
3) 5000 by Mrs D
4) 2000 by Mrs F
5) 1000 by Mr G
Once the product has ended then the price everyone will pay is the 8750 price break.
Each product would have a countdown clock which the end time would be designated in the admin section.
When someone makes an order for a particular product the current total quantity would change on the product and a new everyone pays £X price will be updated.
The customer will not be able to order any products until they have created an account and logged in. Their account should include all their details email address and phone number etc.
Because each product might have a different close date we would not need a shopping basket. Each product would be a separate order.
Once logged in the customer would be able to put a quantity (a minimum order quantity would be required ie 250) in the input box a calculation would be made on the price that they will pay today. For example adding their qty may go to the next price break. However they won’t get the final price until the end of the countdown. They can then click order now and their quantity will be added to the product total quantity and the new everyone pays price will be updated.
The order will be stored in the admin area for us to see with a email confirmation to both parties. The customer will also be able to login to their account and see their orders.
When a product comes to an end everyone who has ordered will receive a confirmation email of the price that they will pay and next to that price will be the money that they have saved compared to the price of their orders quantity price.
For example if they ordered 250 which would cost £1.01 but by the end countdown the quantity ordered had reached 10,000 then that customer will only pay £0.25 for each product a saving of £0.76 each or £190 so instead of them paying 250 x £1.01 = £252.50 they will actually only have to pay 250 x £0.25 = £62.50
I have created an example of how I would want the product page to resemble. See attached image.
If you have any questions please ask.
