Google QR code generator API repair

Hello, I have 2x websites that use QR code generators inside a database - one is used to produce a PDF which when scanned will send an email with certain particulars, the other is used to produce a QR code which is printed on a PDF and used for tracking storage items. I belive the previous QR was designed using a discontinued Google API (stopped working about 1 week ago), this needs to be updated to use something that will be robust moving forward.
I've attached one of the php files as txt and a screenshot of some code.

I can provide logins to the system if more info is required.
