I'd like to understand which pages and what keyword baskets we are doing well on but could be improved ( those perhaps ranking 5-15). I'd like to understand what we could do with those pages ( Eg more copy).
I'd like to understand what the 30 top pages are in search for four competitors in the same sector and what terms are leading customers to those pages and how we compare for those same keywords. By doing this I'd like to see which pages we could work on to close the gap on these competitors for these terms. ( there will perhaps be some cross over between items one and two).
The output of this exercise aside from the data needs to a work list with our urls to work at and what needs to be done to the pages ( EG more copy, more focus etc). To do this will require the data plus a manual review of competitor pages and the ability to identify what on page or on site components may be helping them to rank more highly. I fully recognise that in some cases on page may not be the governing factor but nonetheless this whole project is about developing our on page presence.
Secondly the output should identify any new pages that we could introduce to gain traction and create more inbound traffic. These new pages may emerge from the gap analysis between competitor sites and our own.
While I realise that the work will involve the use of traffic estimation sites such as SEMrush I am not looking for an entirely pre-programmed solution, i do need a more personal review of the situation and suggestion of developments based firstly on a review of the data but secondly a review of the pages in question both our own and our competitors.
I have indicated a budget but don't let that constrain you. If the work is going to take more or less time then by all means say so.
