Description
Experience Level: Expert
I own the site Everygamegoing.com. It is a behemoth of a gaming site. It contains every game in the world, from the obscure
ZX81 games of the early Eighties to the latest PSVR title for the PS4.
The site features over 40,000 reviews, and each review is currently formatted as per the following (this is just the most recent one).
https://www.everygamegoing.com/egg/landingMagArticle/index/mag_folder/egg/mag_issue_id/1579/mag_section/reviews/filename/Manic-Pietro-000/
It's pretty rubbish looking, yes...?
I don't really have much of a design flair for these sorts of things. However, I want someone who does to kick this page template into shape. You will know you are the right person for this job if you:
a) live and breathe CSS and HTML5 design
b) know everything there is to know about responsive web design
c) have held professional positions as a Graphic Designer and/or a web designer
You are not required to touch any element of the page above the breadcrumbs.
Breaking down the page underneath the breadcrumbs, you see the following elements:
[Game title] [publisher] [Game machine(s)]
[Review author] [Review comes from]
[Link to plain text version]
[Link to html version]
Screenshot(s)
Cover Art [if the game has cover art]
Review
Score box
I want:
a) a much more visually appealling design
b) retaining all of the elements
c) a title panel which features some generic background art (you design it or it can be one of the screenshots blown up and faded so that it fits with the review itself) with outline slots for the cover art, and one-to-four screenshots to appear in pop-ups when clicked
d) a revamped score box (the text cannot be hardcoded as different reviews have different categories; font should match the styled scores of the score box)
e) a screenshot box (without caption) that fits with the style of the new page
This is a one-day project for a front end web designer and he/she will be expected to provide a html page and the full CSS.
The site is currently written in Bootstrap 3. If you can ensure your CSS is compatible with Bootstrap 3, that would be great. If you prefer to work with Bootstrap 4 that is also fine as I intend to upgrade the site to Bootstrap 4 in the very near future.
Note: The final page must be responsive and work on all sizes of screen resolution.
You may wonder why I haven't linked to any other sites with examples of what I want. The answer to this is that I don't see what I want anywhere else. I want something that looks very attractive and that complements the game reviewed.
