Description
The goal is to build a scalable and maintainable online commerce solution with a flexible CMS and administration system. The platform should allow efficient management of products, categories, customers, orders, content, and business workflows from one centralized system.
The project requires a developer who can contribute to both frontend and backend development and provide technical recommendations regarding architecture, scalability, performance, and security.
The main functionality includes:
Custom e-commerce platform development
Product and category management
Customer accounts and profiles
Shopping cart and checkout functionality
Payment gateway integration
Order management system
CMS and admin dashboard
Content management features
Search and filtering functionality
Third-party API integrations
Responsive frontend development
Backend and database architecture
The ideal developer should have experience building full-stack web applications, e-commerce systems, APIs, and administration dashboards.
Relevant experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, PHP/Laravel, MySQL, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and custom CMS solutions would be beneficial.
The project will start with technical planning and architecture review, followed by development, testing, optimization, and deployment preparation.
Estimated timeline: 6–8 weeks.
Please share examples of similar e-commerce or web application projects you have developed, your role in those projects, and your recommended approach for this solution.

Hi Venkata,
I saw your job post for a custom e-commerce platform with a flexible CMS and admin dashboard. Having built full-stack e-commerce systems with similar architectures (React/Next.js frontend with robust Node/Laravel backends), this project aligns directly with my expertise.
To ensure we plan the architecture correctly and give you an exact roadmap, could you clarify a few details?
Tech Stack Preference: Do you have a preferred stack for the frontend and backend (e.g., Next.js + Node/PostgreSQL vs. Laravel/React), or are you open to my recommendation for optimal speed and scalability?
Payment & 3rd-Party Integrations: Aside from payment gateways (like Stripe or PayPal), are there specific third-party tools (CRMs, ERPs, or shipping providers) that need to be integrated into the workflow?
Design Assets: Do you already have UI/UX wireframes or Figma designs ready, or will the frontend design be part of this scope?
My Commitment: Because I specialize in custom e-commerce architecture, I am so confident in my workflow that I guarantee to deliver the complete, fully-tested project before your 6–8 week deadline.
Once you reply with these details, I will outline the recommended tech architecture and send over a full proposal.
PS- If you want as per my undertsnading i can create an MVP as well to prove my worth.
Best regards,
Suman -

Hi, thanks for sharing the specification. The project looks interesting, particularly the combination of the commerce layer, custom CMS/admin system and backend architecture.
Before applying, I wanted to clarify a few points so I can understand the intended MVP and make sure the proposed architecture and timeline are realistic:
1. Do you already have the frontend and admin UI/UX designs, or would design be included in the development scope?
2. Is this being built completely from scratch, or is there an existing platform/codebase to work with?
3. The specification covers quite a broad platform. Which functionality is essential for the initial 6–8 week launch, and which features can be phased into a later release?
4. Which payment gateways, shipping providers, CRM/accounting systems or other third-party APIs need to be integrated?
5. Approximately how many products/SKUs and categories will the platform launch with?
6. Are product/customer/order data migrations required?
7. Are there any specific business workflows required in the admin beyond standard product, customer and order management?
8. Has the technology stack already been decided, or would you like the developer to recommend the architecture and stack?
9. Will there be one main decision-maker available for requirements, testing and approvals during the development period?
10. Is the £5,000 budget intended for the complete 6–8 week MVP, or is this the first phase of a larger development roadmap?
Once I understand those points, I can give you a much more accurate view of the implementation approach, milestones and technical architecture. -

Before I recommend the architecture, how do you want inventory, pricing and order fulfilment to behave as the business scales specifically, do you anticipate multiple warehouses/suppliers, product variants with independent stock, customer-specific or regional pricing, partial fulfilments/refunds, or multiple sales channels sharing the same inventory? I’m asking because these decisions need to be reflected in the product, inventory, order and payment data models from day one; retrofitting them after the checkout and admin systems are built can require substantial restructuring.
