Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: 1 - 6 months
Dear all,
I'm a software engineer working in Shenzhen, China. I have a strong desire to move to America and work, live there in the future. That's why I'm looking for a specialized interview training.
The goal is very challenging. I've studied English for five years, and I could speak some now, which helped me got my current job in an international company. But to land a good job in the US, I need to express my thoughts around IT things fluently and even better - flawlessly.
I started the plan for me to gain the ability to speak the IT language. I know If I can talk IT industry-specific things well, I'll work well and perform well in my next job or promotion interview. But it does not mean I'm going to have a job interview soon in months. It's a long term plan, and I'm not in a hurry.
I believe the idea will work because I've seen people did it https://youtu.be/YJZCUhxNCv8 The speaker in the video, Sean Lee, passed interviews in big companies by practicing interviews with his friends for months.
I'm looking for a teacher who'll talk about IT things with me. I'm a website developer using Javascript language. I'll prepare the interview question list. And I hope my trainer could do things below:
1. Ask me something about IT (from the question list);
2. Help me compose the answer when it's needed;
3. Check answers with google and compare;
4. Discuss the answer (I may ask for pronunciations and explanations about some vocabularies, but not so IT-like if my trainer doesn't know much).
I had an English teacher on Acadsoc before, and we did this for weeks and enjoyed it. But I could not book him now because the outbreak of novel coronavirus made the students rush on online English classes.
It's preferred if my trainer knows IT, or could provide the question list, but really not necessary. I hope it's an enjoyable experience. I don't want to stress out. There's no need to push hard if I make wrong answers or skip questions.
The program will come up to months until I pass my promotion interview (or land a better job, who knows). I prefer 4 hours weekly training on weekends (Beijing Time UTC+08). My budget is 10$/hour.
That's my story. I hope there's enough background information for you to know what it is. Let me know if you have any concerns and good ideas.
Best regards,
