We all know about dictionary.com well sillYDic.com is the funny side of words.
On sillYDic.com you will find all sorts of words with funny, odd or eccentric meanings.
It's a social entertainment site where you can browse through the dictionary of words in a number of different ways.
But for some people that may not be enough! They may feel they have a funnier meaning and would like to submit their definition.
Some people will search for words, others will just browse through the alphabet. Sometimes they won't find the word, so sillYDic gives them the opportunity to submit their word and its definition. Our editors will then check it and if it's good enough post it.
If people want a credit for their contribution they can publish their name and contact details. They must sign the Terms and Conditions Agreement before being able to publish.
Users will be able to register either through using an existing profile (Google/Facebook etc) or creating their own on sillYDic.
Visitors will come into a front page which shows the sillYDic logo and the 'word of the day' User can immediately click to see user page or wait for 10 seconds until front page dissolves into user page.
User page offers a word search facility. The input should use predictive text which will highlight words that are already in the dictionary database (mysql). Result returns the word and its definition(s).
User can rate the definition and/or share on social networks.
Result also asks "Have you got a funnier definition?" if so click here to submit yours.
Submit form allows to register or use other login. If user doesn't want to, form can be completed (will need anti spam code to be completed).
System says: "Thanks, our Editors will have a look to approve before publication"

The site must be slick, modern very easy to use across all platforms. We might even consider apps for certain devices.
It must also cater for contextual advertising and links. Our strategy is to drive substantial numbers of users to this free entertainment site to generate advertising revenue.
