Description
Experience Level: Entry
General information for the website: Online Financial Planning Software
Description of requirements/features: We are a SaaS software provider and as part of our setup process we convert word documents into html to enable our clients to produce these document from our online application.
Word has a "save as html" function which can be filtered to remove word specific tags, however, the output is not great because it contains a heap of inline css. We would like this css standardised so it is easy to change the styling if required via the css NOT via inline styles. Also unused css styles need to be removed (word will insert ALL theme styles into the document by default).
Sometimes documents contain text boxes and other other word specific objects which do not translate very well into html. In this case these need to be converted into tables so they display properly with our online editor.
A general conversion process would look like the following: -
1. Save the word document as Html filtered.
2. Extract embedded CSS into external stylesheet
3. Convert floating object, text boxes and alike into tables
4. Convert images into simple format
5. Test document using the OMNIMax Application to ensure the same look and feel as original document.
We are willing to offer $UD5 per page for proper clean up and conversion into our online format.
