Thanks for taking the time to read my project.
I need my Shopify Vantage Theme modified so that when a product with variants is opened, the default product image is pre-selected, and not the 1st variant picture, as happens by default in Shopify. In other words, I want to stop the first available variant from being pre-selected on page load and leave the default product image being selected on page load. The customer would then be presented with a 'Choose your Variant' above the dropdown or swatch selector and need to select the variant they want. This would then display the selected variant picture and product.
I had done this myself when I used the default (free) Supply Theme, following this guide: https://shopify.dev/tutorials/customize-theme-how-to-add-a-pick-an-option-to-drop-downs
However, as I am now using Vantage, the guides do not apply to that. Essentially, what is described in the above article, is exactly what I want to happen. I am also using the Vantage Theme Product Custom 1,2,3,4 templates as well, so this modification would need to work across these as well as the default theme product template.
Realistically, this will be a fairly straight-forward engagement. That being said, I am also looking for someone reliable, as I will have other work that I will be posting here in the future and I would like to build a good working relationship with someone.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Cheers,
Scott.
