Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: The website contains a database of recipes which appear on my mobile app called Student Chef
Description of requirements/features: Hi everyone, I am looking for a back-end developer to install an SSL certificate for me. The SSL has been purchased with host gator, and they are also the ones who host my website for me. The website is a back-end website, which is only used by the Admin, and not by any customers. The website contains a database which I use to store food recipes, and these recipes then pull through to my mobile app which is called Student Chef. It is on Android and iPhone, and it is an app containing free recipes for students in the UK. So for example, if I wanted to add or delete a recipe, I would log into the website and then add/delete the recipe from the database, and then it would appear/disappear from the mobile app. I have already purchased the SSL, but I don't think it is installed properly, because if you go onto the website, it does not automatically re-direct to https, it goes straight to http instead. If I want it to go to https, then I have to type https into the web browser. I need it so it will automatically re-direct to https and not http. The reason is because the website has been getting hacked loads lately, mainly due to the fact that the SSL is not installed properly. Currently, the website has been defaced by Malware, and I'm not too sure how to get rid of it as I do not have a back up.
Can anyone help with the installation of this SSL, as my old back-end developer could not figure out how to install it properly.
Thanks for taking your time to read this,
Niam

Hi,
What platform is your website built on? A SSL certificate is not going to prevent your site from being hacked, it's used for protecting data transferred between the user and the site. -
Hi Niam ,
are you still considering the proposal? If yes, Can you please provide the website URL as well ?
Thanks
Niam P.15 Jul 2017Hi there, the URL is www.studentchef.co.uk
