Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
I need help with a very specific part of an ASP Classic web application where a user, who has logged in, must be able to complete the following steps:
1. Upload a CSV file with at least three columns (firstname, lastname, email). A template will be provided but we can't guarantee usage.
2. Because not all CSVs will be guaranteed to have the same column headers, we will need to have a step that asks the user to select which column is the "First Name" which is the "Last Name" and which is the "Email." We will also ask if the uploaded file has column headers or just data in each column (skip the first row or not).
3. We will then loop through the CSV file and add each row to an existing table. During the loop, for each row, we will add a temporary random password and generate an email to the Email Address in that row.
3.1. Any rows without email addresses will be ignored.
3.2. We will also check to see if there are any existing rows in the database that already use the email address for that row in the CSV (we don't want duplicates)
4. After complete, we will show a confirmation screen that lists: (i) all of the rows skipped because of a malformed or blank email, and (ii) all of the rows that were skipped because they were duplicative to existing DB rows.
Lastly, please note the following:
A. I can stylize the presentation layer of the pages when done, I just need help with presenting raw HTML, step by step, and processing the data for each step.
B. If there are any special configurations to the Windows Server needed (permissions, ISAPI/plugins, etc.), you must be able to share my screen over video conference and guide me through the configuration.
C. I can provide you with a login to the SVN repository so you can grab/post your code to the development server.
D. An NDA will be required.
E. This is NOT a .NET application. Please, only ASP Classic capable inquiries.
