I am looking for assistance with generating a new SPFx project from an existing larger open source Sharepoint project. I have downloaded the Microsoft "SharePoint Starter Kit" from github and made modifications to the source of a single webpart (PeopleFinder) contained there. I would like to split out this PeopleFinder webpart into it's own project so I can deploy the .sppkg to my online tenant separately from the "SharePoint Starter Kit" .sppkg.
This should be very very simple for anyone familiar with SharePoint Framework. Create a new SPFx project using my source code, compile, done. Deliverable for this project is a compiled .sppkg that I can drop into my SharePoint online tenant and begin using on all modern sharepoint sites there. Also would like the project files used so that I can recompile myself using gulp.
Reason for this project: I am completely new to SPFx, but was able to modify the PeopleFinder webpart locally and test using gulp. But my preference is to have my "custom" version of this webpart be deployed separately from the stock SharePoint Starter Kit elements, and title it something like "RTC People Finder".
I am attaching the source from the my modified PeopleFinder to be used for the new project \sp-starter-kit-master\solution\src\webparts\PeopleFinder
