Description
We are looking for an experienced developer or small development company to migrate our existing Kapture website, booking platform and connected mobile web app to private hosting owned by our business.
Kapture provides property photography and media services. We have already developed the design and core workflows and can provide the source code, database schemas, branded assets and a detailed technical handover pack.
We want a cost-effective migration that preserves the existing design and functionality, with the necessary work to make the system reliable and maintainable.
The project covers:
- **Public website and CMS:** Move the website, editable content, galleries and uploaded files while preserving the current branding.
- **Booking platform:** Migrate bookings, clients, photographers, calendars, assignments, media delivery records and existing administrative functions.
- **Client and photographer app:** Preserve the connected mobile web experience on iPhone and Android, including bookings, daily schedules, shoot details, status updates and the existing live-location feature.
- **Login and permissions:** Replace the current hosting-dependent login with secure authentication and appropriate access for administrators, clients and photographers.
- **Email setup:** Configure and test existing transactional emails through Microsoft 365, including booking confirmations, shoot completion and media delivery. Preserve the current controls that keep client emails disabled during testing.
- **Push notifications:** Complete and test alerts for “photographer on the way”, “shoot complete” and photographer schedule confirmation. Admin marks a schedule complete, the photographer receives a notification and confirms it in the app.
- **Deployment and handover:** Set up staging and production environments, HTTPS, backups, monitoring, reliable background notification processing and clear maintenance instructions.
The existing code uses React, TypeScript, an Expo-based mobile app and Cloudflare-backed database and file storage. Please demonstrate relevant experience with application migrations, authentication, SQL, Microsoft Graph and browser push notifications.
The initial scope is the website, platform and browser-based app. Native App Store and Google Play releases, continuous background tracking and driving ETAs can be quoted separately.
Please include in your proposal:
1. Examples of similar migrations or booking systems you have delivered.
2. Who will carry out the work and their relevant experience.
3. Your proposed approach, estimated timeline and fixed-price milestones.
4. The cost of an initial technical review before confirming the full migration price.
5. Expected hosting costs and support after launch.
Hosting, source code and service accounts must remain under our ownership. We will provide the specification to suitable candidates and share the source pack with shortlisted developers.
---Please provide a quote based on experience.---

1. Are there any known issues with the existing platform, such as authentication failures, notification delays, or database performance problems, that you would like us to address during the migration?
2. Will you provide access to the complete source code, database schema, and technical documentation before the initial technical review, or will access be granted after selecting a developer? -

Is a target hosting environment already in place for the migration, or will selecting one form part of the initial technical review?
-

Hi David,
Could you please confirm whether the current application is fully dependent on Cloudflare’s database, authentication and file storage, or whether some components are already independent and can be migrated separately? Also, is the technical handover pack up to date with the deployment process, database schema and notification setup? I’d suggest starting with a paid technical review to assess the migration risks and dependencies, then provide a reliable fixed-price quote with milestones and timeline.
Thanks,
Naresh
