Description

Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We need a feature adding to Google Maps for our business
Description of requirements/functionality: We need to be able to click on a point on Google Maps in UK/Europe, and have it show height above sea-level and distance from the coast.

This is for calculating the suitability of our structures in various locations.

This would be for use on desktop/laptop Windows 10 PCs with Chrome browser.

    Hi Craig,

    I am interested in your project but how do you propose to determine the distance from the coast? To get google maps to query areas to find out where the sea could be somewhat cumbersome and not an highly reliable either. Perhaps there is something more specific you want to know, like distance from certain postcodes (ports) on the coast? I am not saying its impossible, just looking if there is an easy way to provide what you require.

    Hi James,
    No idea I'm afraid, which is why I'm looking for an expert to help me. We need to be able to identify any point which is 60km or less from the coast, 100km or less from the coast, 150km or less from the coast etc. The chances of the postcodes being accurate enough is nil. PH post code in the UK for example stretches almost from coast to coast.

    any ideas?
