Writing VBA programs to manage sound recording, translation and playback.

This involves writing some VBA programs in the ‘Sound’ module in the attached MS Excel 2010 workbook (xmrDictator.xlsm ) which contains empty versions of each routine which contains a brief description of their functionality as a comment:

Public Sub startrecording(ByVal strwavfile As String)
Public Sub endrecording(ByVal strwavfile As String, ByRef intseconds As Integer)
Public Sub translatewav(ByVal strwavfile As sting, ByVal stroutputfile As String)
Public Sub playback(ByVal strwavfile As String)

You will also need to write a ‘main’ program in which to call the above routines on a test basis.

You will need to include a reference to the Microsoft Speech Object Library or equivalent to provide the required functionality. A search on Google for “speech processing in VBA” gives over 250,000 references including examples.
For a VBA/VB6 developer familiar with the relevant VBA add-ons or references, this is a fairly straight-forward application. It is required within 5 working days of commissioning. In making your proposal, please give details of any experience you may have had in this kind of application.
