Hi,
We currently have two WordPress blogs on separate sub domains which we have just had completely redesigned. The designs are ready to go from our developer but we need some assistance in getting everything setup as we'd like to make some changes.
We are currently using WordPress Multisite and Domain Mapping for the two current blogs which means we have one WordPress install. We've decided to now have two separate WordPress installations going forward.
We also want to move both blogs from their current subdomains to a subfolder eg. moving them from blog.ourwebsite.co.uk to www.ourwebsite.co.uk/blog/
Before we go live we want to test it to make sure everything is ok so the developer wants to upload everything and install WordPress to directories such as /blog1/ and /blog2/ temporarily before moving to /blog/ on each site when all is ok and we can go live.
A potential issue here is that we're running on Django for our actual consumer facing websites so creating those directories and uploading the files doesn't accomplish anything without some work on Apache (I'm guessing) which is where we're a bit stuck.
In summary:
1. Familiarise yourself with our current configuration (Django, Apache, Nginx, Linodes, WordPress and anything else)
2. Setup two temporary subfolders and install the respective newly designed WordPress blogs where we can test internally
3. Once tested, move the new installations into a /blog/ subfolder on each respective website instead of the current sub domain setup
4. Test everything is ok
5. Remove the current WordPress Multisite setup
