Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
I'm looking for a software developer with experience in computing intensive applications.
We are developing a system that takes raw golf data—such as scores— and transforms it into meaningful, adjusted scores. This process involves normalizing the data to account for varying factors, such as weather and course complexity. The goal is to produce a standardized metric that reflects true performance, independent of external variables, allowing for accurate and equitable comparisons to use in statistical analysis.
We are looking for a developer who prioritizes understanding the core principles of software architecture over following the latest industry trends. The ideal candidate should have a thoughtful approach to problem-solving, focusing on the practical application of architectural patterns, such as microservices, only when they truly address the needs of the project. We value expertise in identifying the right solution for the right problem, rather than adopting trends for their own sake.
I myself am a Senior Developer with a full time job, with experience of architecting enterprise applications from the ground up. I work on Golf Uncut in my spare time out of a love for software development and an enjoyment of the challenges this project brings.
It's a serious project with routine tasks like integrating additional data into the process but also provides exciting parts that push problem solving and design skills. Ultimately the ambition is to add a layer of machine learning once all the fundamental work has been done.
I'm equally open to bringing on someone like myself, someone with less experience that needs a portfolio project or anything in the middle as long as they can contribute to the project effectively.
To ensure that we are a good fit and that you have the right skills for our project, we will offer a paid testing task. This task will help us assess your technical capabilities and approach to problem-solving in a practical context. It will also give you a chance to understand our project requirements and work environment. We believe this collaborative approach will help both parties evaluate the potential for a successful working relationship.
The technology stack:
• Blazor
• .Net 6
• C#
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Docker
SpecFlow and NUnit
