Simple php script for checking against databse

Its a 20 minute job for an expert, i need a php script creating which only retrieves one piece of information from the mysql database and then checks to see if it exists, if it does exist then i want a page to be able to be viewed , only if the code matches the database, with sql injection protection too. Its a very simple task for a php developer.
