Description
Experience Level: Entry
I need someone to write a simple routine that will collect the URLs of image on a web site based on a starting search page URL. I expect this to be a routine that someone has and can be tweaked for this requirement hence the lower budget. It has to run on any platform as a script. Output should be saved to a file or output to standard out and saved to a named file. There will be more needed in the future if this is successful.
The test for acceptance will be to start from a selection of parent URLs including the ones below for reference.
- Full Page URL
https://www.marksandspencer.com/MSFindItemsByKeyword?searchTerm=jeans&intid=normal&langId=-24&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&categoryId=0&page=4
In each case the purpose will be to save all of the images on the page and then follow each link on the page to collect the images on the child page. The number of levels can be set but default will be one level below the parent.
Images are to be identified by
- Full Page URL
- image number (within the page starting from 1)
- Full image URL, tag contents, <meta name="description" content="xx" where xxx is required
Example pages from above.
