Description
Experience Level: Entry
I am attempting to create a weather radar website. I am well on my way, but I have run into an issue with projecting the radar data. My issue is I need the script to do the following: Py-ART handles radar data processing, while MetPy's azimuth_range_to_lat_lon is used for geospatial calculations, and Cartopy is utilized for plotting. I also included an updated script for what I have right now... unfortunately, the conversion is occupying a massive amount of data (which isn't correct..... I have to figure out the issue). The MetPy information for doing the conversion to lat / lon coordinates for the data is https://unidata.github.io/MetPy/latest/examples/formats/NEXRAD_Level_2_File.html#sphx-glr-examples-formats-nexrad-level-2-file-py
Example radar data: https://noaa-nexrad-level2.s3.amazonaws.com/2024/02/20/KLCH/KLCH20240220_185813_V06
The memory allocation issue likely occurs during the transformation into latitude and longitude coordinates, but I am not certain.
The radar data should look like rain data (reflectivity which is green / yellow) in the attached file.
Portions of the script are attached as Script2.txt
IF you actually read down to here, and you are very confident you can resolve the issue, let me know by sending a message which says "I can solve the problem and the sky is blue". This will tell me you actually read to here.
