Private Java Tutor for 14-Year-Old – Weekly Online Lessons
I am looking for an experienced and enthusiastic **Java tutor** to provide private **1-to-1 online lessons** for my 14-year-old daughter.
The lessons will run from **September 2026 until the end of June 2027**, with **one 1-hour lesson per week**.
### What we are looking for
The main objective is to teach her **Java properly from the foundations**, gradually developing a solid understanding of programming and object-oriented concepts.
We would like the lessons to broadly follow and work through the book ***Thinking in Java* by Bruce Eckel**, using it as a structured guide while also including practical programming exercises and small projects.
The tutor should:
* Have strong practical knowledge of **Java and object-oriented programming**
* Be comfortable teaching a **14-year-old**
* Explain programming concepts clearly and patiently
* Work progressively through ***Thinking in Java***
* Give practical coding exercises rather than focusing only on theory
* Occasionally provide small homework exercises between lessons
* Help her understand **why the code works**, rather than simply teaching her to copy solutions
* Ideally have previous experience teaching Java or programming to teenagers/beginners
### Schedule
**Period:** September 2026 – end of June 2027
**Frequency:** 1 lesson per week
**Duration:** 1 hour per lesson
**Format:** Online, private 1-to-1 lessons
We are looking for someone who can ideally work with her for the **entire academic year**, so reliability and continuity are important.
