Description
Experience Level: Entry
I am looking to have a price comparison tool created that monitors the sell price of items located in an API for a game called Old School RuneScape.
This game has a system called the Grand Exchange where players can buy an item for a set price. The items available for sale are all listed here: http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_oldschool/Fire_rune/viewitem?obj=554 (one example).
I would like the tool to subtract the Grand Exchange item price from the items 'high alchemy' value and also then add in the current Grand Exchange price of the item called a Nature Rune to determine if a profit or loss can be made after high alching the item.
For instance, as at 30th July the item named Rune Platebody costs 38,398 GP. If it was high-alched this would require 1x Nature rune costing 211. The high-arch value is 39,000 so the maths would be: 38,398 + 211 = 38609. Then 39,000 - 38,609 = a profit of 391 coins.
The high alchemy value, denoted by "highalch", each Grand Exchange item price and the Nature Rune price denoted by "cost" can be found in the Old School RuneScape API. One API I have sourced can be found here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/osrsbox/osrsbox-db/master/data/items-scraper.json though I would like the official API from oldschool.runescape.com to be used.
A similar completed project to what I am looking for can be found by going to: https://alchmate.com and clicking OSRS High Alch in the menu.
The Grand Exchange prices must be continually updated.
