Hi,
I want to automate the process of installing/setting up a Magento installation as much as possible. It needs to be able to tolerate user-inputted variables either through a HTML form or by editing a PERL script pre-execution or something of that nature (preferably the former).
Here's what I want it to do specifically:
- create a subdirectory on our test site (name value determined by user).
- copy our custom magento installation from a folder on our server to the newly created directory.
(here's the annoying bit)
- pre-populate a MySQL database (we have a load of blank ones set up already, user will specify which one is available) with numerous magento settings prior to the user installing magento.
- settings would be captured from a form completed by the user ideally. The fields are as follows (probably not exhaustive, just to give an idea):
* Do they require dummy products (Shoes/Clothes only)
* Company No
* Shipping Methods + Pricing
* Email Address(es)
* Telephone
* Address
* Company Name
* Company Logo
* Opening Times
An exhaustive list of the settings and values that would need configuring can be provided once we award the job - don't want to post a big 'ol wall of text on here.
The rest of the settings are static and never change and is one of the main motivations for wanting to do this as it's ridiculous to be inputting the same settings etc every single time.
Experience with Magento specifically, familiarity with how it's database is structured is probably going to be pretty important for this.
UK bidders preferred.
Cheeers!
