CRITICAL! This silly site does not allow enough characters for my well written spec.
So please download the entire spec here:
https://robolinux.org/PPH/FINAL-People-per-hour-spec.tar.bz2
My Background: (John Martinson)
I will do all of your shell script testing for you on my Linux Debian and Redhat development servers and help you debug the code if needed.
I have been in the software industry since 1987 so I have produced and managed hundreds of software Programs successfully. Be sure that you read the last sentence below in this spec about the next project.
Thank you!
Warmest regards

SUMMARY:
---------------
This is a small shell script project using zenity dialogue box to ask the user which existing png or jpg file name you want to change on the web server. The user enters the file name and the shell script writes the changed file name to a .csv log file in /var/log
Then the shell script asks what existing images sub directory you want to change the name to on a Linux web server and it writes the changed /images/sub-directory name to the same specified .csv log file name in /var/log directory that can be appended each time you run the shell script.
The shell script will only ask to change one file name and three sub directory names each time you run it from the Linux terminal.
The web server is typically located in /var/www/mywebsite.com or /var/httpd/html/mywebsite.com
This shell script must use a random alphanumeric generator to create unique random 7 alphanumeric characters each time it is asked to change one existing png or jpg file name or each of the three existing sub directory names on a web server.
The user can enter the same log file name and the shell script must post the results to the next line below in any existing logname.csv file.
The user can enter as many different .csv log file names as they want to have written to /var/log
The first time the shell script is run by the user the first question is:
Enter the log name. If the log file name does not exist then the .csv log file name is created and can be appended to in /var/log each time that log file name (without the .csv file extension) is entered and the shell script is run again.
