Java script help and tuition

I have plenty of years of experience in web development and I am pretty good on databases, although I am a complete novice to code.

I have two pieces that need some work but I would like to be shown how to do it at the same time. To someone who is very good in Javascript this is probably 30 minutes work as I feel the code is very nearly there.
