Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
General information for the business: this is the start hopefully of a regular relationship.
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Num. of modules: 10
Description of every module: i cannot describe every module right now but basically it's going to be an aggregator that uses a number of api services to build a really robust twitter/presence wall pulling in different updates from a variety of services. we looked at other services and we think there is better ways to present some of this data. you'll be helping to build a better looking aggregator that will be displayed in lots of co-working space in and around derby (and beyond) -- that sound interesting?
Description of requirements/functionality: we are building a different kind of aggregator. we made something similar called rezpondr over five years ago. it was not multithreaded, it was slow but it worked. backend and frontend were not independent. it was a hack.
we want to write it from scratch. it's going to be called orrerycast.com (i can tell you the story if you want, think joseph wright from derby)
the first part we want to make is to build is to pull back search terms/hashtags from twitter. we will be using http://datasift.com for this. i already have an account and we will load it with some api credits. we just need you, the coder to work with on this.
the coder i work with will be faster, efficient and produce results quickly and will be paid promptly (we already have the funds for the development) we will do the coding in blocks. i'll be getting a designer to work with as well on the front end and backend 'look' so think of this as an expanding project.
CMS and Admin requirements: our project will require an admin interface. we would like to use http://janrain.com or something similar for handling users. our whole project has to be mobile from out of the gate and the admin has to be mobile too. our features in the admin will be few in the first prototype.
Specific technologies required: multithreaded language, cloud based, super fast, very efficient code
Extra notes: we are looking for someone we can work regularly with on module based piece meal coding blocks. basically we will spec out what we are looking for and do each piece paid for bit by bit. we will agree on time/cost and then get that built. your code should be solid and ideally documented to a certain degree. i'm not expecting awesome, just so that someone can pick it up if they need to look at your modules as we will be adding lots of modules to our project.
we are contactable via email, twitter, mobile etc. we use slack, evernote, google drive for communications back and forth. i'm looking for someone who is already managing projects and can do this on the side and give us 3-5 hours at a time to get blocks of the work done until we have proved we can deliver bits of the system.
we have already been won the project. we didn't get a lot of money (no really) and i've already taken our project management money of it.
