We require a PHP Script to retrieve emails and insert into database, along with some processing.
We have an email imap/pop3 box that collects emails.
We need a PHP script built that will run via a CRON job and will connect to the email box, insert the email and any attachments into a database and then delete the email from the email box.
The specifics are:
Must cycle through all the emails in the inbox.
Save original message source.
Save plain text version of message
Save attachments (the attachments should be saved to a different database table)
Link the attachments to the database record that corresponds to the message.
Produce PHP code to display the message again, along with a script to allow the attachments to be downloaded.
Has to be able to handle common email formats, MIME etc.
When inserting the email into the database common metadata such as Subject, Date, From, To must be inserted into different columns.
All code must be clearly commented.
A development server, with mysql database will be provided.
A script already exists, it will be up to you whether you can correct any problems with it, or build a new one from scratch.
The script MUST be reliable.
