Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are a delivery partner engaged by a UK healthcare client who uses Heidi Health and Vonage. We seek an experienced subcontractor to design, build, and hand over a secure middleware integration that enables automatic transcription of inbound and outbound calls made via the Vonage Voice API, with transcripts processed by the Heidi Health API and ready for downstream clinical documentation.
# Scope (Phase 1 – Post-Call Transcription)
- Implement a custom integration server (Node.js or Python) operated in our environment (we host) to receive Vonage webhooks for call start/end and recording availability.
- Fetch and, if needed, transcode audio (e.g., to MP3/OGG) before secure upload to Heidi for transcription.
- Persist call metadata and transcripts in our controlled storage.
- Implement robust security & compliance: webhook validation, secure credential handling, TLS in transit, encryption at rest, and UK data residency/GDPR alignment.
- Provide documentation, tests, and deployment guidance (e.g., containerised service).
# Optional/Phase 2 – Real-Time Transcription
- Add WebSocket media streaming from Vonage to support near real-time transcript generation.
# What we’ll provide
- Hosting and environment control, Vonage/Heidi credentials, and access to a detailed technical brief.
# What you’ll deliver
- Technical specification and data flow, working middleware, test plan (including simulated calls), rollout documentation, and support for handover.
This subcontract is ideal for teams with proven experience in telephony APIs (Vonage/Nexmo), audio handling, and healthcare-grade security.
