Description

Experience Level: Intermediate
We’re a UK training provider delivering accredited safety and competency courses to the utilities and engineering sectors. We’re looking for a full-stack developer to build our new course booking and training management platform from scratch.

We have a detailed written specification, user journeys and a test plan ready, so the requirements are clear. The full spec will be shared after appointment. We can provide more summary information if you need.

WHAT WE NEED BUILT (PHASE 1)

-Public course listings with online booking and payment
-Logins and dashboards for four user types: Admin, Corporate Booker, Delegate and Trainer
-Corporate accounts that book using pre-purchased credits
-Session scheduling, capacity limits and automatic waitlists
-Stripe payments for individual bookings
-Automatic draft invoices in Xero
-Automated emails (confirmations, reminders, cancellations)
-Delegate intake forms with secure ID-document upload
-Competency and certificate-expiry tracking, with reminder emails
-Admin reporting and a full audit trail

The platform must be secure and GDPR-compliant, and it will go through a penetration test before launch.

ABOUT YOU

-Solid full-stack web experience (e.g. Laravel, Node.js/React or similar)
-Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL or PostgreSQL)
-Has integrated Stripe and other third-party APIs
-Booking or scheduling systems experience is a big plus
-Good communication in English and happy to work in stages
-working UK hours

    Could you please clarify whether the detailed specification includes the credit allocation and deduction rules for corporate bookings, along with the cancellation, rescheduling and waitlist workflows? Also, for the secure ID uploads, competency records and Xero invoice integration, are there any existing systems or specific GDPR/security requirements we need to accommodate? This will help me assess the architecture, milestones and testing effort before providing a realistic Phase 1 estimate.
