Description
The Exact Bug:
When a user clicks a menu link, the page loads correctly. However, if the user refreshes the browser (hits F5 or Cmd+R) on any page other than the homepage, the navigation menu breaks. Specifically:
- The active/highlighted state resets to the homepage.
- The dropdown sub-menus fail to expand when clicked.
- The mobile hamburger toggle stops responding until the page is hard-reloaded again.
What we need:
We need a frontend developer to debug and fix this refresh issue. We suspect the JavaScript state is not persisting or re-initializing properly after a hard reload, but we are open to your expert diagnosis.
Requirements:
- Strong HTML5, CSS3, and Vanilla JavaScript (no jQuery).
- Proven experience debugging state management and DOM manipulation issues.
- Must be able to test the fix across Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

Could you share the live URL and, if possible, the navigation JavaScript file or staging access so I can quickly review how the menu is currently being initialised?
-

-/ Is the website built using pure HTML/CSS/Vanilla JavaScript, or is there any framework/CMS involved? Please also share the relevant navigation/menu files if possible.
-/ Does the issue happen on every internal page after refresh, or only on specific pages/URLs?
-/ When did this issue first start happening? Was there any recent change, deployment, redesign, or JavaScript/CSS update before the issue appeared?
-/ Does the issue occur on both desktop and mobile, and are there any specific browser/device combinations where it is more noticeable?
-/ Can you provide a staging/development version or repository access where the issue can be safely debugged without affecting the live site?
