Need Excel VBA Programmer.
Background:
We are a company that installs, sells and programs fire alarm system equipment. The program output file is provided in PDF only. The program output file provides details of the fire alarm system equipment, such as: Floor location, Area location, Type of equipment, etc., etc. etc. The equipment must be maintained as per laws and provided for review to the Authority Having Jurisdiction upon request.
Currently, the maintenance of the equipment is manually logged in a blank logbook. Each page is consecutively numbered. The waste of time part is manually re-entering all the equipment information as described above (floor, type, etc.) each time an inspection of the system is conducted. The inspections are conducted twice per year at multiple sites so each logbook is unique to that sites equipment quantities, locations, etc. as each jobsite is unique.
We want to avoid repetitive, time wasting data entry, the chance for human error and provide a professional typewritten logbook with minimal handwritten entries during inspections (mostly pass/fail, etc.)
PROGRAM specs:
Step 1. Automatically convert PDF file (a.k.a. PDF Data File), with multiple pages, to Excel (a.k.a. Excel Data File). (PDF Data File---->Excel Data File).
Step 2. I must be able to select data from converted Excel Data File and this data must automatically "pop" into an Excel Form that I've created and can modify at any time (a.k.a. Custom Excel Form). The data will "pop" into any Row and Column that I choose of the Custom Excel Form. (Excel Data File ---->Custom Excel Form).
Note: This is the most important step of the program. The ways I envision this happening, as an example: I highlight or select the data from the Excel Data File and I right mouse click to provide the Row, Column where to "pop" the data in the Custom Excel Form.
Clarification:
You may have a better way to do the same thing. I am open to ideas. This requirement is the essence of what I need.
The Custom Excel Form is just one page composed of some blank columns and rows with fixed column headers but the data to be transferred will always exceed one page. Therefore, the program must automatically replicate the Custom Excel Form each time more rows are needed for data. The program automatically must consecutively number each new page, bottom center (ex. 2, 3, 4...), each time the Custom Excel Form is replicated.
The Form is automatically converted to PDF once I finish transferring all data from the Excel Data File to the Custom Excel Form. Then the PDF Form will automatically append preset PDF cover pages and PDF Appendices pages. The final product is a Custom LogBook specific to the jobsite.
Samples are attached.
