Description
We sell non-prescription medicines through eBay. A selected list of approximately 10–20 product SKUs will require an additional age-verification step before the pharmacy can authorise supply.
Required workflow:
eBay order → check SKU → designated medicine identified → VerifyMy verification → result returned → status linked to order → pharmacy reviews → pharmacy authorises supply
The integration should automatically:
- Retrieve/detect new orders from our eBay.co.uk seller account.
- Identify orders containing one of our designated SKUs.
- Initiate the VerifyMy verification process for the customer.
- Receive and associate the verification result with the correct eBay order.
- Clearly identify verification as Pending / Passed / Failed.
- Maintain an auditable record linking the eBay order, SKU, verification result/reference and date/time.
- Allow our pharmacy team to easily add/remove SKUs requiring verification without developer assistance.
Orders requiring verification must remain identifiable for pharmacy review until verification has been successfully completed. Failed, incomplete or unresolved verification must be clearly identifiable for manual review.
We require someone with strong experience in eBay APIs and third-party REST API integrations. Experience with OAuth/API authentication, webhooks or scheduled polling, secure customer-data handling and audit logging is important.
VerifyMy has already confirmed that a bespoke integration can be developed for our pharmacy using its Stores API, and API documentation is available.
A detailed Statement of Work is attached.
Deliverables include: a working eBay/VerifyMy integration, configurable SKU list, verification-status workflow, retrievable audit trail, testing covering successful and failed verification, deployment/handover documentation and 30 days of post-launch bug-fix support.
When applying, please briefly provide:
1. Details of any previous eBay API integrations you have developed.
2. Examples of similar third-party API integrations.
3. Your proposed technical approach.
4. Whether you recommend eBay order polling or an event-driven approach, and why.
5. Your estimated development timeframe.
6. Your fixed-price quotation.
7. How you propose to host the integration and securely handle customer data.
Our advertised budget is a guide and we are open to reasonable proposals based on the recommended technical approach.
Please do not submit a generic web-development proposal. Direct eBay API experience is strongly preferred.

Hi Saaj,
A few quick questions to help us confirm the integration scope:
1. Do you already have production eBay Developer credentials and VerifyMy Stores API credentials, including the documentation for receiving verification results?
2. If an order contains multiple items, including verification-required SKUs, should the entire order remain flagged for pharmacy review until all required checks are passed?
3. Would you prefer a simple admin interface to manage SKUs and review verification statuses, or do you require a dedicated pharmacy dashboard?
4. Is it sufficient to link verification results to the relevant eBay order within the integration, or do you also need the status displayed directly in eBay?
Thank you.
Best Regards.Saaj K.Fri 9:49amHi there,
1. We have been in direct contact with VerifyMy, who have confirmed that a bespoke integration using their Stores API is possible. We would need to confirm the exact credentials, documentation and callback arrangements with them before development. We have not yet confirmed that all production credentials are available.
2. Yes. Where an order contains one or more designated SKUs requiring verification, the entire order should remain flagged until all applicable verification requirements have been satisfied and the pharmacist has separately approved supply.
3. A simple, secure dashboard would be our preference. It should allow our team to add/remove SKUs, view verification statuses, record pharmacist approvals and access/export an audit trail. We do not require an unnecessarily complex order-management system.
4. A verification status held within the integration and clearly linked to the relevant eBay order would be acceptable. Direct visibility within eBay would be beneficial only if technically supported.
For context, orders automatically import from eBay into Royal Mail Click & Drop, where staff create and print postage labels. We would therefore also appreciate your recommendation for ensuring that unapproved orders are not inadvertently dispatched.
Please let me know your proposed approach, estimated timeframe and fixed-price quotation.
Many thanks.VCONN P.Sat 2:28pmThanks for the detailed answers. I’ve just sent our full proposal, including the approach, fixed price and a short case study of a similar regulated-API integration.
One quick question that affects how we protect against accidental dispatch: do you know whether your Royal Mail Click & Drop account has API access? If it does, we can stop unapproved orders from ever reaching the print queue rather than relying on staff checking a list.
Also, when are you hoping to go live?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks. -

Could you confirm whether you already have an eBay developer application/app keyset configured for the seller account, and whether the integration will operate against a single eBay.co.uk seller account?
When an eBay order contains multiple line items, how should the system behave if one SKU requires verification and another does not? Also, can the same order contain multiple verification-required SKUs, and should the system create one verification request per order or separate requests per product/customer?
After VerifyMy returns Passed, should the system automatically mark the order as ready for pharmacy review, or should there be an additional manual approval action inside the integration? For Failed, Pending, or incomplete verification, should the system prevent/flag the order in a particular way, and does the pharmacy team need an admin dashboard showing all outstanding cases? -

Hi
I’d like to confirm your preferred workflow: would you like the Verifymy verification result to be visible directly within the eBay order as well, or is having it clearly linked to the eBay order and available through the pharmacy dashboard sufficient?
Regards

Has VerifyMy provided the Stores API credentials and callback/webhook requirements yet?
Can the designated SKU list be supplied at project start so I can configure the verification rules?
Do you already have an eBay Developer account/app with production OAuth access to the seller account?
