Developer to Migrate Mailgun SMTP Integration to Mailgun API

Project Overview
We are looking for an experienced developer to help migrate our existing email sending system from Mailgun SMTP to the Mailgun API. Our application currently sends transactional emails via SMTP, and we want to move to the API-based method to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
This is a one-off integration project for someone with solid experience working with Mailgun and email delivery systems.
What We Need Done
Replace our current SMTP-based Mailgun integration with the Mailgun HTTP API
Ensure the new API-based system fully replicates our current email functionality
Implement support for email content, headers, and attachments where required
Ensure the system is reliable and suitable for production use
Test the integration thoroughly to confirm successful delivery
Provide brief documentation so we understand how the new implementation works
Required Experience
Please only apply if you have direct experience with Mailgun integrations.
You should have:
Strong experience integrating the Mailgun API
Experience working with REST APIs
Good understanding of transactional email systems
Experience migrating from SMTP-based systems to API-based email sending
Knowledge of email deliverability best practices
Nice to Have
Experience working with high-volume email sending
Familiarity with email headers and MIME structures
Experience improving email delivery performance
