Description
Experience Level: Expert
Requirement 1)
I would like to send my eBay customers a custom message via the eBay messaging platform automatically upon payment. The custom message will be standardized except for a download link that must use the one of the listing fields of the product sold. Specifically, the Custom Label field (see attached screenshot). The Custom Label must be automatically be inserted into the message to the customer upon payment to form the download link.
For example, a product listed has a custom label of "D20083". The custom message could be "Thank you for your purchase. Your download link for the product is: www.mysite.com/downloads/D20083.zip. Notice that the custom label (D20083) is used to create the download link.
Likewise, if the product on ebay has a custom label of D10252, then the download URL would be www.mysite.com/downloads/D20083.zip.
I have been approved by eBay to sell eBook downloads but the restrictions are, that I must use their messaging platform. I want the customer to receive the download link for their purchase immediately upon confirmed payment. Currently I am doing this manually which is too cumbersome. I have over 100 products, each with a unique custom label and download URL.
Requirement 2)
If possible, I would like for the download link provided to the customer to have some sort of protection to prevent unauthorized use. In other words, the URL could "expire" after X number of days. I am open to options on the best way to do this but the intent is to prevent customers from sharing their download link purchase to others.
