Overview
A leading London startup seeks a Javascript or PHP developer or dev team to create a dynamic event list that uses the eventbrite and meetup APIs.
Goal
Create a dynamic events list that shows information about events taken from the eventbrite and meetup APIs. We should be able to host the list on a page of our website and be able to add APIs and modify the design of the list later if we wish.
Requirements
-- PHP or Javascript code and HTML/CSS code that allows us to display a dynamic event list with events taken from the eventbrite and meetup API
-- The event list should be a table (preferably with infinite scroll) with at least 20 rows and should allow users to search events
-- The table should have the following 5 columns
* •Event name, (UCD2013 Conference)
* •Event start date (e.g. Monday August 18)
* •Location, (by town or nearest postcode)
* •Paid/Free type
* •Link to the respective Eventbrite or Meetup listings page
-- Each row in the table should contain an entry in every column
-- Events should be ordered by date (from present to future)
-- Above the table there should be four user-interactive elements:
* •A search field, (powered by Google's Maps API), where the user would enter their locationThis is mandatory.
* •A drop-down menu for event categories, (e.g. business, conferences, conventions, entertainment, fundraisers, meetings, other, performances, reunions, sales, seminars, social, sports, tradeshows, travel, religion, fairs, food, music, recreation. etc) – this is not mandatory for users to input.
* •A drop-down menu with the options "Free" or "Paid", discriminating paid events. Also not mandatory for users to input.
* An add 'event button' - When users click 'add event' they should see a pop-up that has 5 fields. If a users submits information for the five fields, the event should appear in the list.
-- There should be a submit button next to these elements. When the user submits, the user should see the relevant events that match his search query.
What you should provide
– You should provide code that we can add to a page of our website with minimal dev work on our side
-- However, the code you provide should include detailed comments that would allow us to change and add to the code if and when we choose
What happens next?
-- Make an offer and tell us about yourself and why you're suitable for this project
-- Ask questions about the brief where you are unclear and make suggestions to improve it (failure to demonstrate that you've read the brief will mean you will not be considered)
-- If we like what we read, we will tell you more about the project and the company behind it
