Experience Level: Entry
This is a college project:
• Build networks that conform to AWS best practices while providing all the necessary
network services to the application in their different environments.
• Build an architecture that matches the current architecture at the server hosting
company and that can handle doubling the number of servers. Also, ensure to include
the ability to scale back in when demand decreases.
• Ability to automate machines availability and setup in the event of a failure or need to
scale
• Secure all medical information, as medical information usually contains highly
sensitive personally identifiable information (PII).
• Utilize Load balancers for web tier and application tier that must support HTTP,
HTTPS. Internet access is required for patching and updates without exposing the
servers or databases.
• Architecture should be highly available, secure, resilient (built for business
continuity) at all layers of the infrastructure.
• Architecture to use a content delivery network to speed up the downloading of web
pages and other content
Your tasks
Present the proposed solution to the customer in the form of a professional report. Within the
report, include the following:
TASK 1: Translate customer requirements into a proposed technical solution. Identify the
key AWS Services required and justify the need for each based on the detailed technical
requirements above. Ensure that you articulate how each will be used to solve I-Healths
needs.
TASK 2: Create an architecture diagram(s) of the proposed solution to meet I-Healths
needs. Design an AWS solution meeting the requirements provided by the customer. Using
a tool such as draw.io (https://app.diagrams.net/?splash=0&libs=aws4). Ensure to
articulate the highly available architecture design needs of I-Health.
TASK 3: For your design that you completed in Task 1 and Task 2, provide justification of
how your solution meets the AWS well-architected design principals.
TASK 4: Discuss TWO anti-patterns that I-Health currently has. Clearly explain the
problems and justify how your solution would solve these TWO anti-patterns.
TASK 5: The chief financial officer has asked you to analyse how I-Health can optimize the
cost of their AWS infrastructure. Recommend and explain THREE ways of saving money by
utilizing the cloud design your created in Task 1 & Task 2 above.
