Description

Experience Level: Intermediate
A PCB manufacturing company requires a software program to convert a series of a table drill data to minimise the movement of the drill bed to speed up production i.e.to place all the holes near each other row by row. This requires sorting out a series of X coordinates points in ascending/descending order.
You are required to write an DEV C/C++ program to provide a numerical bubble sort, to a set of data

    This will have to be done taking in to consideration drill sizes as well.

    Are the files in standard excellon or gcode format? Do you want to convert at the same time as optimising?

    Are you sure they need this? I wrote exactly this program 30 years ago for a local manufacturer but they used a commercial PCB drill route optimizer program 5-6 years after that.
    (Note: Its not shortest path, but traveling salesman that you typically use)
