Description
Experience Level: Expert
We have an existing iPhone app which is currently in the App Store. What we're after is a capable Android developer to port this to the Android platform.
We will provide an API which the app will need to connect to in order to send/receive data.
Here's what the ideal candidate will do:
* Create the app in a modular fashion, making it easily extendable going forwards.
* Clearly document the code using JavaDoc.
* Convert parts of the UI to a more native Android feel where appropriate.
* Be comfortable working with code in a Git repository, committing progress each day.
Skills required include:
* Geolocation
* Social sharing (Facebook, Twitter)
* Photo gallery presentation
* Searching
* Custom mapping (we provide custom map tiles to use)
* Line drawing (to plot paths on the custom maps - all required data points are available via the API)
* Caching (so parts of the app are available for offline use)
This is an exciting project to work on. However, due to privacy agreements the exact app details can't be posted publicly. Please get in touch by sending a message before submitting your proposal.
We have a full time developer who created the iPhone version of the app on hand to answer any questions throughout the process.
For the right person, this could be the start of an on-going relationship for outsourcing Android work.
