Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I have developed a multi-user web application (PHP and mySQL) in which the users each do transactions with their customers.
I now wish to offer a capability for them (the users) to get paid directly for their services - automatically via PayPal/Credit Card.
The business background:
The USERS are rental property owners who in turn sell rental time at their properties to their GUESTS.
I have a database which stores information about each of the USERS and in turn details of each of their GUESTS and their guest's BOOKINGS with dates and, of course, the cost of each holiday.
The Project:
I need help navigating the quagmire that is PayPal documentation and jargon. The project deliverable is a working PHP page that will take (posted) information from my application process the payments and return OK or not.
To simplify the project, I will supply a simple HTML form with all the fields needed to complete a PayPal payment transaction. This form will POST to the new PHP page (to be developed by you), which manages the PayPal payments.
The form is in two parts:
The first part contains those fields pertaining to the Owner and his PayPal account.
The second part contains various fields that my application already knows about, including, of course, the transaction cost.
The form will eventually be populated programmatically from my system, but for the purposes of this project we can keep it quite separate and stand alone. You may add/delete/modify this form as much as you like to ensure completeness.
OPTIONALLY
Given that most of the USERS are not computer literate, but will probably have a simple personal PayPal account, we will need to create some simple user documentation to enable them to setup their business account and supply the necessary information about themselves to be stored in my database. I will write the dialogs to capture the necessary information.
If you feel you can help write these end-user notes, then that will be an added bonus.
