Summary
=======
Using the existing iOS App as the specification, deliver a fully documented and tested version capable of running on the majority of Android devices that mirrors the original’s functionality, look and feel. The developer must recognise the differences between the iOS and Android user interfaces and create a fantastic experience that uses those differences intelligently rather than simply delivering an iPhone App that will run on an Android device.
The App should be ready for release with all necessary preparations and registrations complete. The design, clearly commented code and associated documentation must be handed over to a developer who is experienced in iOS but not Android development.
Where it makes sense for us to undertake certain activities instead, such as registrations, then these should be discussed and agreed as part of the bid response.
Excellent communications, with no surprises and good working relations are key requirements.
We will discuss the delivery schedule, but our target date for the live App is by end April. We will be ready to handover technical details by the end of February. On-time completion to the agreed schedule is critical and failure to achieve this may mean that the project has little value to us and force us to cancel it and make no payments.
Please only bid for this work if you are confident of meeting agreed timeframes.

Please see the attached brief for our full requirements.
Background
=========
We are a small company and released the App in August 2011 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
We now wish to replicate the App using the existing content and web infrastructure on the Android platform to reach a wider market.
In technical terms, the App is relatively simple and consists of a home page, various list views and then detailed views for listed items when they are selected. There is also a photo album and it is possible to navigate between lists etc.
The App:
- is location aware when the device has that capability;
- issues web transactions to request content which is provided in XML, HTML and image files upon request;
- supports almost all functionality offline, with content packaged within the latest release (which we must be able to update) and added to using data received through the transactions above;
- provides offline maps using Route-Me and OpenStreetMap;
- is branded with consistent graphics throughout (suitable images will be provided);
- allows users to send feedback, post to Twitter and Facebook and send texts and emails.
The majority of content is location specific referring to places of interest of one form or another.
